

Irish Bike Week is go and we’re busy with lots of different pedal related activities this week. Here’s a sample of what we’ve been up to and our schedule for the next few days – please come to any of the events and show your support for Irish cycling!
Gold Sprints Sunday 14th of June – St. Anne’s Park Raheny.
On Saturday we had an awesome day with Gold Sprints with a great audience in the park. The day was to celebrate Irish Track Cycling with upcoming International Track Cycling Day next month on the 11th & 12th of July at Sundrive Velodrome in Crumlin – thanks to everybody who came and joined in!
Dublin City Lunch Time Cycle – 17th June Dublin Docklands
Possibly the most famous event of Bike Week, the Dublin city lunch time cycle has been running for a number of years and again The Bike Institute will be part of the opening festivities down at the Docklands on Wednesday. For those that are new to the lunch time cycle, here’s what bikeweek.ie have to say:
“On the day Grand Canal Square will turn into a bustling bicycle market with an assortment of vendors peddling bike related goodies and food vendors dispensing an array of tasty lunchtime options.
Participants are invited to meet at Grand Canal Square at 12.45pm for the 5km/30 minute bike ride which will take a new route encompassing the quays and East Link Bridge.
Participants are encouraged to pre-register at lunchtimecycle.eventbrite.ie the first 500 to pre-register will receive exciting goodie bags on the day. In addition everyone who pre registers will be entered into a draw for an iPad Mini!”
This year The Bike Institute will be providing FREE BIKE CHECKS for those taking part and will have an awesome display set up. So get down there early to make the most of one of the best events of the week.
Phoenix Park Bike Festival – Saturday 20th June – Pheonix Park
With loads of events running all week at Pheno, we’ll be there this Saturday to add to the fun: we’ll be bringing along our stand and display and will be providing Free Bike Checks and cycle info and advice for anyone who wants it!
